A dozen players, including star centre Michael Jennings, sacrificed their holiday to trek 60km for a private speed session in the Eastern Suburbs on Thursday morning.

While their peers battled to overcome Yuletide hangovers in time for last night’s New Year’s Eve bash, the mountain men tackled power jumping drills in Centennial Park.

Thursday’s session was run by sprint guru Roger Fabri, who was recruited for weekly clinics at CUA Stadium during the pre-season to sharpen the side after a lacklustre 2011.
