With try-outs for the newly established Lingerie Football League here in Australia held last week, Speed Agility Academy had overwhelming success with 18 of our sprint trained squad members being selected out of a possible 25 available spots.

Impressing the American Coaching staff, 86 female athletes took to the field to show off their skills to try and secure a position in the sport that has taken America by storm. Originally started as a half-time diversion during NFL Super Bowl Sundays, the LFL has become a certified league in itself and is played by female athletes who compete in 7-on-7 teams with hard-hitting and tackling just like the male counterparts in the NFL.

LFL Australia is scheduled to premiere in 2013 after Australia hosted the 2012 LFL All-Fantasy Game Tour. Two exhibition games between the Eastern and Western Conferences took place in Brisbane and Sydney. Queensland native, Australian athlete and wide receiver for the Los Angeles Temptation Chloe Butler served as the ambassador of LFL Football coming to Australia and captained the Western Conference squad. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide have been designated as the four inaugural season market teams.

LFL is the fastest-growing female sport in the world. It’s a hard hitting, explosive sport and we congratulate our team of hard working athletes who qualified…well done ladies!
